DOGS,
CATS AND RABBITS
Regular check-ups and vaccinations are essential
to your pet's health. When things go wrong,
you want to be assured of the best care. We
want YOU to make the decisions that are right
for YOUR pet with the full support of our
professional veterinary team.
We
have xray facilities, an ultrasound and dental
machine and do our own in-house blood tests.
Separate kennel areas ensure that your cat,
or rabbit, is not stressed by the barking
dog who having an operation on the same day.
Our surgical facilities allow us to work to
the highest standards.
Our
nursing staff is dedicated and compassionate,
making sure that your pet is in the best hands,
ALL the time.
EXOTICS
Edda Pohlandt (BVSc, MRCVS) has a special
interest in 'exotics'. We treat, not only
rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters, but see
birds, reptiles and all the other 'small furries'.
Whether it is an African Grey parrot or a
marmoset monkey or a chinchilla, you can be
assured of our confident and dedicated care
at all times.
Our
association with Birdline Parrot Rescue has
seen us fostering an African Grey parrot called
'Peaches' that came in to us with suspected
Proventricular Dilatation Disease. We treated
him and he made a good recovery, but has been
waiting for the perfect home ever since –
in our surgery! He flies free and seems not
to mind dogs or cats or the merlin falcon
that regularly shares his conservatory.
HORSES
Horses were the mainstay of Mrs Pohlandt's
business for fifteen years. However, due to
time constraints, we now only take on second
opinion cases which need acupuncture. All
horses get a full work up, building on your
regular vets diagnosis. Acupuncture can be
very useful in lamenesses, sore backs, string
halt, muscle damage due to wounds and discomfort
due to arthritis.
ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture
is usually scheduled during the day to suit
your schedule and done while you wait with
your pet.
GROOMING
Sarah is a qualified groomer and has ten years
experience grooming all types of dogs.
Sarah started Cute Cutz Grooming in Lancashire
seven years ago. When she moved to Carlisle
last year, she realised that there was a strong
demand for a good dog groomer here and moved
the business too!
She
will groom to breed standard or to your individual
requirements, so you are assured that you
will get your dog back just the way you wanted
it. Dogs are happy and confident in Sarah's
care, as she clearly loves what she does and
has the patience of an angel.
Sarah's
approachable nature will allow you to chat
about the care of your pet and she can give
practical advice on shampoos, flea treatments
and general coat care.
